Wha?!? A raspberry eating dog??

Yes it's true, Stryker is the Mikey of Dogs.  He eats everything from Jiggs Dinner in someone's garbage (this is a story for another time but basically all the salt gave him an overdose which led to him disoriented and a night in the vet hooked up to i.v.), deer heads, watermelon and now raspberries.  The best part is how he so delicately plucks them off the branch and only the really ripe ones, if they are just a little white or pink he looks over them! Crazy Dog!

We did manage to pick ourselves a little bowl full ourselves before Stryker got to them all and made some kick ass raspberry pies while camping.  I just mashed them up with a little sugar, placed the mixture between two pieces of bread which were sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and then cooked over the fire in the camp cookers. Yum...the perfect desert!

The Adventures of Stryker: Ham Bone Edition

This Monday may have been the best Monday ever for Stryker. We decided to wait until yesterday to give him the bone while he was alone for the day.  Otherwise, I would have had to beg and bribe him to go for a walk or hang out with me over the weekend (he gets way too obsessed with animal parts)!

Mr. Loonie snapped a few pictures while handing over the bone before heading off to bed (he's on night shift).  Stryker's expressions are priceless and have clear messages.  I would love to hear your captions for each picture! Leave them in the comments.

The Adventures of Stryker - February 28, 2012

So my lovely Stryker decided to run away on our walk tonight - this is not uncommon; Mr. Loonie even has a tracker made up for him using an old iphone, ipod arm band and dog harness.  Tonight, I decided he wouldn't need it because we were only going to go on a little walk.  Well was I wrong, he sniffed out a treat only a few minutes from our house and went running.  This is what he came home with an hour later.....

Update (March 1, 2012):  Mr.Loonie took the head on a walk yesterday morning and left him hanging in a tree.  Hopefully the birds and the worms clean him up nice so we can pick him up in the sping to hang in our yard.  Reminder to self: Use this website to identify poor deery boy's age: http://www.timberwolfinformation.org/info/deerjaw/basics.htm
